QANUN

The qanun is a horizontal zither made from wood, with metal strings arranged in parallel rows.

The qanun is played by plucking the strings withh a plectrum.

In The Phoenix of Persia, the sound of the qanun represents Prince Zal.

What other string instruments do pupils know that are plucked? And with a plectrum?

Meet qanun player Nilufar Habibian
